Indiana Beach Amusement Park

Indiana Beach is an amusement park in Monticello, Indiana, on the shores of Lake Shafer, a manmade lake on the Tippecanoe River. The park, originally named Ideal Beach, opened as a sand beach swimming area, bath house, and refreshment stand in 1926. Indiana Beach Amusement Resort is home to six of Indiana's largest roller coasters. The Hoosier Hurricane, Galaxi, Tig'rr, the Cornball Express, Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, and the Steel Hawg all grace the shores of Lake Shafer. Indiana Beach has a total of twenty-eight thrilling rides, family games, and a miniature golf course. Indiana Beach is also home of The Shafer Queen, Indiana's largest regularly scheduled paddle wheel boat, which carries 60,000 passengers per year on excursions about Lake Shafer.
