Six Flags Georgia is a 230 acre theme park located just west of Atlanta, Georgia on Interstate 20. Six Flags Georgia is one of three parks in the Six Flags Theme Parks chain to use the Six Flags name continuously since the original grand openings, the others being Texas and St. Louis. As with all Six Flags parks, Six Flags Georgia's mascots are a host of characters from Warner Brothers, notably the Looney Tunes characters, and the Justice League from DC Comics. Six Flags Georgia opened on June 16, 1967.
Six Flags Georgia has over forty rides including ten large roller coaters. The park has some of the largest roller coasters in the Southeast, including the Georgia Scorcher, Batman, Superman's Ultimate Flight, and the new Goliath hypercoaster. Aside from the coasters, Six Flags Georgia contains a number of other rides and attractions. Three unique attractions are the Acrophobia, the world's first floorless freefall tower ride, the Riverview Carousel, one of only three remaining five abreast carousels and a member of the National Register of Historic Places, and the Monster Mansion, a haunted house experience with its own frightful list of characters.
